Flattened rice cooked in Indian spices served with peanuts

Poha

Poha is an Indian breakfast of which I am presenting a healthier version with high protein and carbs.

  • 2 chopped onions
  • Fried peanuts- 100 gms
  • Flattened rice/Poha soaked in little water- 350 gms
  • Salt- As per taste
  • Turmeric powder- 4 tsp
  • Chilli Powder- 4 tsp
  • Coriander powder- 4 tsp
  • Fennel Seeds – 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds- 2 tsp
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan
  2. Add fennel and cumin seeds in heated oil
  3. Add green chilli and chopped onions in the oil and fry them till it is cooked
  4. Add green peas to the oil and cook for 2 mins
  5. Add all the spices with salt and cook for a while
  6. Add asfoetida and cover with a lid and cook for a min.
  7. Add poha to the mix and now mix the contents well
  8. Cook for 2 mins and your poha is ready
